JC7584.   Vanadinite.  JC Holmes claims.  Santa Rita mountains, Santa Cruz county, Arizona.   7 x 10 cm  207g.  $65.00    Good coverage of orange crystals on black mottramite.  This location is an American classic, and has been thoroughly cleaned out.    This piece dates from the original find in the early 1980's.  Minor damage.  The veins in this deposit carrying the vanadinite were pretty tight and it was quite difficult to remove pieces without some damage to the crystals rubbing against adjacent wall rock or other vein fragments.
JC7587.  Vanadinite.  JC Holmes claims.  Santa Rita mountains, Santa Cruz county, Arizona.  9 x 11 cm  400g.  $75.00.   Good coverage of orange crystals on black mottramite.  This is a conglomeration of breccia fragments cemented together by the vanadinite.  The crystals have good luster and color.  No obvious damage.  This location is an American classic, and has been pretty thoroughly cleaned out.    This piece dates from the original find in the early 1980's.   No obvious damage.

JC7406.  Vanadinite.  JC Holmes claims.  Santa Rita mountains, Santa Cruz county, Arizona.  4.5 x 8 cm  216g.  $90.00.   These were 1st on the market in the 1980's, then once sold, pretty much disappeared.  A limited number from the original find became available in Denver, so I purchased a few of these uncommon specimens.
JC7348.  Vanadinite.  JC Holmes mine, Temporal Gulch area, Patagonia, Wrightson district, Santa Rita mountains, Santa Cruz county, Arizona.  8 x 9 cm  328g.  $90.00.   A flat plate of pumpkin orange crystals typical from this find of the mid 1980's.    These have been quite uncommon on the market, until a few from the original find that have been stored away for the past 35 years were offered at the Denver show.

JC7166Vanadinite.   ACF mine area, Mibladen, nr. Midelt, Khenifra Province, Meknes-Tafilalet Region, Morocco.  7 x 11 cm  632g.   $90.00.   I picked up two of these, both  from the same pocket...they are a bit different from the usual Morocco vanadinites.  This is a solid, porous mass of vanadinite crystals with no matrix.  The color is red orange.   Pretty from all sides.
JC7166.  Reverse.
JC6269.  Vanadinite, wulfenite, galena.  Puzzler mine, Castle Dome district, Yuma county, Arizona.  6.5 x 7 cm  408g.  $25.00.   A nearly unique piece for this mine.  One of two found loose in the oxide zone.  Rounded and corroded mass of galena with small bright, brown vanadinite crystals enclosing part of the lower part, and a knob of small yellow wulfenite crystals forming a domelike coating on the top.   Collected in the 1970's.
JC6269.  A close up of the little wulfenites on the top of the specimen.
JC6198.  Vanadinite, wulfenite.  Puzzler mine, Castle Dome district, Yuma county, Arizona.   6 x 12 cm   194g.  $15.00.   This was in the oxide zone near the vanadinite occurrence.  It is a mass of galena highly altered to anglesite? cerussite?  with micro vanadinite and wulfenite on it.  A rather interesting locality piece and ore sample.   One of two pieces found loose in the oxide zone.    Sparkles rather nicely.   C: 1980.
